Inpatient treatment is a type of intensive residential care where individuals stay at a treatment facility to receive medical and therapeutic support while recovering from substance use. It is designed to help individuals detoxify from substances, address physical and psychological dependence, and work on long-term recovery through a structured environment. Inpatient programs are usually split into a couple of different services: Acute Treatment Services (ATS) and Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS), Transitional Support Services (TSS)
Specialized healthcare services designed to provide immediate, intensive care for individuals experiencing severe or acute medical, psychiatric, or behavioral crises. The goal is to stabilize an individuals condition in a controlled and supportive environment, allowing for further assessment and planning for ongoing care. Stabilization is achieved through counseling and medication assisted therapy to help individuals through the withdrawal process. Individuals usually stay in detox for 7 to 10 days.
These are specialized programs designed to provide support and treatment for individuals. It servs as a “step-down” from Acute Treatment Services (ATS). Treatment usually consists of individual and group counseling, psychoeducation, case management, and individualized treatment planning. CSS offers nursing services to provide medical education, continued safety, and offers medications to assist with mental health symptoms. Individuals are usually assigned a counselor who will stay with you to help you with aftercare planning and assist you in your recovery process. Most individuals stay in CSS for 1-3 months.
Transitional support services (TSS) program, also known as “holding”, are short-term residential programs that accept clients from detoxification, clinical stabilization services (CSS) programs, or from homeless shelters if the individual is not at risk for medical withdrawal complications. TSS programs help to set the individual up in a residential treatment program, such as a halfway house or a sober living home.
